With the introduction of Improv Comedy into Cleveland over 20 years ago, comedy thrill seekers have come to expect new and ever changing styles to wet their growing appetites!
Shortform, Sketch Comedy and Musically Improvised Sketch groups have made improv in Cleveland what it is today! We are here to add another piece to the improv puzzle and introduce Cleveland audiences to the power of Longform Improvisational Comedy Theater!
In its purest form, Improv Comedy is simply, “living and reacting in the moment and never the same scene twice”. This philosophy is the basic foundation of Torque...Full Throttle Improv. We wanted to create a show that continuously reinvents itself and utilizes a large revolving ensemble that changes from show to show! With this in mind, we brought together some of the finest improvisers within the Improv Community.
Each performer brings with them their own individual life experiences, improv training styles and thoughts about improv comedy. The ensemble combines these inputs together creating a "Group Mind" and a show that is not just “shortform” or “longform” but a mixture of all disciplines resulting in a living, breathing entity! Improv is now - Torque...Full Throttle Improv!
The goal of Torque is to break all preconceived notions and beliefs about what improv comedy is and present Improvisational Comedy Theater that is new, powerful and always evolving! In doing this we strive to take improv comedy farther and reach levels that change the way people look at comedy...not just improv comedy!
