Mitchell Fields - Director of Instruction Mitchell Fields is an Adjunct Professor at Baldwin -Wallace College where he teaches Improvisation, Film and Theater. He is also an acting coach in private practice. From 1999 until it closed in 2003, Mitchell was the Program Director and Head Teacher at: Second City Cleveland. Other experiences in teaching include Acting Coach for Something Dada Improvisational Theater Troupe, Acting Instructor for The Cleveland Playhouse, Acting Instructor at Lakeland Community College, Associate Director of The Cleveland Theater Company, Theater Department Chairman and Artistic Director of the Fine Arts Association of Willoughby, Teacher of Dramatic Arts, Film and Speech-Beachwood High School. Certified in English 7 -12, Drama K - 12, and Acting Coach for Giant Portions Improvisational Theater Comedy Troupe. Mitchell has an MA from Columbia University. He is also a professional actor whose credits include hundreds of roles in the theater and several films. He is a member of Actors Equity Association and the American Federation of Radio and Television Artists.

Marc Moritz - Master Teacher
Marc originated the role of Talk Show Host in the original Broadway production of the Sondheim/Prince musical Merrily We Roll Along. Theaters worked in include: The Cleveland Playhouse, Long Wharf, Goodman, New Harmony, Cain Park, Dobama and many more. Marc was the Founder/Director of the Cleveland based Giant Portions Improv Troupe. His improv training includes stints at ImprovOlympic and extensive workshops with Paul Sills, Del Close and Charna Halpern. He currently teaches acting at Lakeland Community College as well as Improv at Beck Center and is on staff at Chicago's Second City Training Center. Marc is also a Guest Artist with The University Circle Early Educational Enrichment Program - bringing Improv and other Creative Dramatics into area schools.

Jeff Blanchard - Co-Founder
Jeff is well respected in the Cleveland Theatrical Community, performing in various theaters and nightclubs and being called, "...the funniest man in Cleveland..." by Scene Magazine. Jeff Co-founded and was Artistic Director of Cabaret Dada and Something Dada (1995-1999), where he was able to harness his 25 years of acting experience. Jeff was also the Founder and Artistic Director of The Cleveland Black Box Theater (1995-1999), a program he created for local talent in Cleveland. Jeff was executive producer for, "The Something Dada Show" which aired on the UPN Network and WUAB locally. Jeff is an alumni of Giant Portions Improv Comedy Troupe. Jeff is a seasoned stand-up comedian with over a decade of professional experience. Jeff is also an accomplished writer and producer. His writing credits include commercials for the Ohio Lottery and live industrials for Progressive Insurance, Hiram Walker, Rockwell Automation, and PPG.

Don Mitri - Co-Founder
As an actor/performer in Cleveland for over 15 years, Don has been described as, "...the man that can make you laugh just by looking at you..." and "...funnier than Abbot and Costello combined..." Don performed at Cabaret Dada Improvisational Theater from 1996 - 2000. Don also performed in "The Something Dada Show" which aired on the UPN Network and WUAB locally. Don was honored to wear the tuxedo of Tony Nunzio Jr. and be a part of Cleveland's Longest Running Show "Tony-n-Tina's Wedding" at the Hanna Theater of Playhouse Square! Don founded and is a company member of Torque...Full Throttle Improv. Don teamed up with Cabaret Dada co-founder Jeff Blanchard and created, "Don and Jeffs One Man Revival...Whose Mess Is This". A show combining improvisation, songs and sketches at The Kennedy's of Playhouse Square. Don also founded and co-created Cleveland Jams! Cleveland's Weekly Improv Comedy Jam. Don's improv training includes, The Cleveland Playhouse, Cabaret Dada, Kiff Vanden Heuvel, Marc Moritz, Mitchell Fields and Jeff Blanchard. Don is a commercial actor and an AFTRA member. He has also taught and performed for students and young adults at churches, schools, companies and colleges throughout Ohio.

Michael Bloom - Instructor
Michael Bloom has more than eighteen years of experience in improvisation, sketch comedy and music, serving as Producer of The Second City Cleveland, Musical Director of Second City Northwest (Chicago) and the Second City National Touring Company, Staff Writer for Second City Communications, Company member & accompanist for The Annoyance Theater and Improv Olympic in Chicago. He was also Musical Director for Giant Portions Improv Troupe and Spot: Irreverent Comedy in Cleveland, and currently coaches improv at Cabaret Dada. Michael holds a Ph.D. in Communications (Cultural Studies) from McGill University in Montreal. Cheri Lynne Vanden Heuvel - Instructor
Cheri Lynne is proud to be teaching at the Cleveland Improv Institute. She has been a member of the Second City Cleveland and the Second City Detroit Main Stage and Touring Company. Cheri Lynne has been teaching in the Second City Training Center since 1999. Cheri earned her MFA at the University Missouri Kansas City. She has appeared in numerous plays, commercials and industrial films.
Kiff Vanden Heuvel - Instructor
Kiff Vanden Heuvel, who originally hails from Grand Rapids, Michigan comes to the Cleveland Improv Institute from The Second City Cleveland Main Stage and Training Center. Before that, Kiff spent 5 years with Second City Detroit. While in Detroit, Kiff performed with Second City's Main Stage Cast, several alternative productions at Second City, wrote and performed in business theater events, and taught in the Second City Training Center. Kiff has taught improv workshops for Bowling Green State University, Ohio University, as well as private workshops for Ford Motor Company, General Motors and Daimler-Chrysler. Kiff has appeared in many national and local commercials, feature films and industrials. Prior to beginning his acting career, Kiff produced multimedia training material on plastic blow molding machines and ladder logic programming applications. Kiff is an avid softball player, a kidney donor, a Mac user and the oldest of five boys.
Charles Moore - Instructor Charles has been fortuante to study with some of the most respected acting/improv teachers in Cleveland over the past several years and is very proud to be a member of the Cleveland Improv Institute staff. Charles is a co-founder of Cleveland Jams and a performing member of Torque... Full Throttle Improv. Charles began studying improvisational comedy with Second City Cleveland, and since that time he has performed with the Sketch and Improv troupes N.O.I.S., Attractive Nuisance, Tuesday’s @ 9, The Public Squares, and the Second City Los Angeles Immersion Troupe. Jeffrey Lyn Hall- Instructor
Having started his career in Italian Commedia del Arte at the Teatro Arsenale in Milan, Italy, Jeffrey Lyn Hall has spent the last 27 years in professional study, teaching and performance. With degrees in theatre from Geneva College and the University of Akron along with being a member of the Professional Actors Program at the University of Louisville/Actor's Theatre of Louisville, Jeffrey has worked as an actor, director, acrobat, clown and standup comic. In 1979, Jeffrey has the rare opportunity to study improvisation in Chicago with the legendary Del Close and performed under the direction of Betty Thomas in the Improv Olympic group Orphaned Babies. Jeffrey is currently the Artistic Director of Beatnik Lingo Entertainment, an improv comedy organization that has staged the immensely popular improv/sketch comedy shows BEATNIK and VINE and the short form improv show BEAT OFF-BEAT! Jeffrey has taught classes in improv/acting/directing at Geneva College, University of Akron, University of Louisville as well as being a former faculty member of The Second City (Cleveland), where he taught all levels of students. Mark McKenzie-Instructor Mark cut his improv comedy teeth at The Second City Training Center in Cleveland. He was fortunate to train with a bunch of amazing improv instructors including: Cody Dove, Kiff Vanden Heuvel, Randal Harr and Dave Buckner. Mark is a seasoned performer with main stage credits to groups including: Torque…Full Throttle Improv, Ground Floor Theater, Oliver Twisted and The Public Squares. Mark has also performed with: Tuesdays @ 9, The Village Idiots, Hilaricorp and Man-In-The-Box. Mark has taught various improv workshops throughout the city as well as being a faculty instructor for the Ground Floor Theater where he taught Intermediate Improvisation. With Marks stage and directing experience, he brings to his teaching a vast background in improv fundamentals and technique. Ausin Nava - Instructor Austin began taking improv classes in 2000. Since then, he has taught and performed in many capacities. He founded the Utah troupe OFF THE WALL, which still runs regular shows. He then completed the Dirty South Improv curriculum in Chapel Hill, North Carolina; going on to teach classes both independently and through Dirty South Improv. Performance credits include: COMMUNITY BIKE, THE SAINT, KEVLAR, CCCP, 24 LIVE CORE, and SUMO; as well as FOUR STRING SAMURAI, which performed in the headlining show at the First Annual Philadelphia Improv Festival with the UCB TOUR CO. He also performed as one of four members of a team from DSI that won the 2006 Super CageMatch at the 9th Annual Chicago Improv Festival. Coaching credits include: PAPA FIBONACCI, THAT CERTAIN FEMALE, SQUARE BLOCK ROUND CIRCLE, and CHICKEN. Austin has studied under many excellent teachers, including Scott Jennings, Ryan Locante, Michael Gelman, Anthony King, Charna Halpern, Porter Mason, and Jeff Griggs.
